New London, NH—The Sunapee Region Board of REALTORS (SRBR) recently donated $600 to the Habitat for Humanity of Kearsarge/Sunapee NH Area, an organization founded in 1989 that has since built more than twenty homes for people in need in the Lake Sunapee region.

“Habitat for Humanity does tremendous work in our community and REALTORS have always felt this is a great cause to support,” said SRBR president Ben Cushing. “The volunteers who build these homes donate their time and energy; supporting them financially is the least we can do.”

Local REALTOR Art Zerbel, of Mountain Views Realty, has been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of Kearsarge/Sunapee NH Area for ten years and has worked on six or seven houses.

“We try to do one house a year—it’s a case of whether we have a qualified buyer and the manpower. Volunteers come from all walks of life—we have a retired carpenter, commercial airline pilot, and even a retired FBI agent,” Art said.
