Sunapee Region Board of REALTORS®

The Sunapee Region - Where Nature’s Beauty is Always in Season

History

The Sunapee Region Board of REALTORS® was founded in 1963, with William Cronin of Sunapee as its first Chairman.

REALTORS® from Claremont, Newport, New London, Sutton and Bradford made up what was known as the Sunapee Region Real Estate Association. A Bylaws Committee was elected and included members Brad White of White & White and Ernest Stewart, founder of Stewart Agency Realtors in Bradford.

As it is today, the Board was associated with the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS® and invited the President of NHAR at the time, Charles Gray of Portsmouth, to attend the first meeting. The Board was also associated with the National Association of REALTORS® and shared the goal of providing real estate agents with a code of ethics designed to maintain high standards of business conduct for the mutual benefit of the REALTORS® and the property owner.

In 1971, the Sunapee Region Board of REALTORS® forged out on its own covering 13 towns surrounding scenic Lake Sunapee, as follows: Bradford, Croydon, Goshen, Grantham, Lempster, Newbury, New London, Newport, Springfield, Sunapee, Sutton, Washington, and Wilmot.
