Why New Hampshire and
the Sunapee Region
New Hampshire is also called the “Granite State” which refers to the extensive granite formations and quarries. Our state motto is “Live Free or Die”. We are bordered by Vermont to our West, Maine to our North, Massachusetts to our South and the Atlantic Ocean to our East.
NH offers many recreational activities such as hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, mountain biking and golf to name a few. Our Fall Foliage season draws many tourists to our towns to take in the beautiful views. There is something for everyone here in New Hampshire!
Our Lake Sunapee Region is home to Mount Sunapee for all year recreational activities such as skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking, zip lining to name a few. We also have boating in the Summer on the 5th largest lake, Lake Sunapee, which is approximately 8.1 miles and contains 11 islands. We also have many other popular lakes and mountains in our area such as Little Lake Sunapee, Pleasant Lake, Lake Todd, Chalk Pond, Otter Pond, Messer Pond, Perkins Pond, Highland Lake, Ragged Ski Mountain and Mount Kearsarge.

Benefits of Becoming
a Business Partner (BP)
Business Partner Minute:
• During a regular membership meeting, two BP’s are given the opportunity to tell the
membership about the business services they offer.
• This is exactly 60 seconds long and you will be asked to come up to the podium in order to
deliver a one minute message about your company.
Business Partner Greeter:
• During membership meetings a BP will be the person at the registration table greeting each member as they enter the room, checking them in and collecting fees.
• This person may hand out business cards and/or collect business cards from the membership. It is expected you will arrive at the meeting a little before 8AM to be ready as members will begin arriving at 8AM.
BP Educational Sponsorships:
• This is one or two BP’s who check in the members during an educational class. The Business Parter(s) will each be given a minute at the beginning of the class to talk about them, their company, specific program etc. (*Typically you will want to show up a little after 8AM in order to set up before members start arriving around 8:30.)
• The BP is welcome to stay for the entire class, in fact it can be beneficial to stay so that when the REALTORS® take breaks, you are there to network and socialize with the group. But again not a requirement.
Business Partners also may be asked to serve on Committees, offer presentations at individual offices, be represented on the SRBR website and BP Brochure, and assist with fundraising which offers exposure to the entire board and in some instances the community.
New Business Partners
-
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Business Partner of the Sunapee Region Board of REALTORS®.
-
As a Business Partner you will receive educational and training opportunities, and notice of Membership Meetings.
-
These meetings are an ideal place to meet your fellow BP’s and REALTORS® in the Lake Sunapee Region.
-
You will also be invited to participate in the SRBR BP Committee where you and other BP’s can meet to discuss issues important to the relationship between BPs and REALTORS®.

News

The median price for New Hampshire single family residential homes was $480,000 in July, a record for the month and a 7 percent increase from a year ago.
Unsurprisingly, the affordability index fell to 62, second-lowest in NHAR's recorded history and a 17 percent drop from July 2022. That means the state's median household income is just 62 percent of what is necessary to qualify for the median-priced home under prevailing interest rates.
The affordability crisis continues to be driven in large part by the lack of inventory. There were 1,700 single family residential homes on the market in the state at the end of July, a 28 percent drop from a year prior. That's 1.6 months' supply of inventory, where a balanced market is typically considered 5-7 months.
Of those 1,700 homes for sale, only 390 of them were on the market for under $350,000.
Meanwhile, the 1,142 homes sold in July marked a 23 percent drop from July of 2022. In the first seven months combined, sales decreased 20 percent in 2023 compared to the same period last year. Additionally, pending sales, the number of properties on which offers have been accepted but not yet closed, is down 15 percent year to date.

Continuing Education
To maintain your Real Estate license, you are required to participate in defined amounts of continuing education (CE) each year or recurring time period. These requirements are set forth in state laws and are administered by state real estate commissions.
New Hampshire real estate agents must complete 15 hours of continuing education every two-year period. Of these hours, 3 are required to be core courses.
Education
SRBR encourages all our REALTORS ® and Business Partners to take advantage of this member benefit. We strive to offer an amazing array of courses and seminars throughout the year that will expand your knowledge.
